Category: thrift store finds

http://www.diecutsrusdesignteam.blogspot.com had an awesome challenge to combine a colour from my minds eye new line, and white.. I chose pink and white.. what better colour to choose to do a layout of my new angel and I. I used so many different fun things on this layout. First I cut my bazzill bling into 6×6 squares, both of them 2 shades of pink(sorry I dont remember the name of the colours), then I did the same with my gorgeous patterned paper that was dying to get used for months. I made a patchwork with the squares for my base, and used my martha stewart scalloped edge punch on the patterned paper.! Then I used 2 pictures of Abigail and I. I accented with gems, to add a bit of bling. In the center I placed 2 of my thrift store find silk flowers, with an accenting brad, and hand drew some stickle flourishes. Then I had to figure out what to do for a title. I was inspired by what my mother says to me all the time “Before I was your mom…” and then she finishes the sentence. So, I cut my title with Sure Cuts A Lot out of white.. for the journalling I took 3 paint chips in various shades of pink, edged them with the same martha stewart edge punch, and layered them. My journalling says ” I slept 8 hours a night, I got to shower every morning, I wasn’t complete”… all things applicable to life before I was Abby’s mom! Ithen tied some polkadot pretty in pink ribbon around the bottom.  I hope you like my layout as much as I do! I had a blast making it. Please feel free to comment!

A new page!

Well here is a page I did.. used prima baby nursery paper… bazill bling and normal bazzill…and the stripey is from DCWV Sweet Stack, the lace is from the thrift store, and the brad and prima are from my stash. Its my daughters first layout! I hope you enjoy!

WOW!! Check this out!

Ok, so I was at my local thrift store today..shopping (I usually buy Zachary books there, and always find something fun! Remember all that vintage lace!??!!) and I hit the jackpot!! I found tucked behind cross stich patterns and old patterns for clothes.. VINTAGE flowers… WOW I hit the jackpot.. this picture just shows the ones in the original packaging, but I also have a full ziploc container full of the loose ones… and what did I pay? 99 cents! WOOT WOOT! I sure  was doing the happy dance! I also found at my Wal Mart, Locker Talk cricut cartridge on sale for 12$, and it was one I didn’t have so I snagged it up!! I also got some stuff to send to my friend Lisa, who is sick! Among the mess of fun craft stuff, I lucked out and found 3 pairs of maternity pants at the thrift store for $1.00 each! SCORE!

Ok on with the pic of the pretty flowers!! They are awesome, and silk..and are sooo pretty!

http://www.charismacardz.blogspot.com/ has a fun sketch that is posted in a post below, http://colourcreatechallenge.blogspot.com/ has the colours pink, orange and green!
Finally, http://www.dutchdare-cardchallenges.blogspot.com/ had us using lace..

So what did I do? I combined the three of them! I used DCWV Sorbet patterned paper, bazill, my cuttlebug, and the happy birthday folder, some green ink from stampin up..oval all stamp set from stampin up, the scallop oval from stampin up, THRIFT STORE LACE (That was inked to match the card! It was cream initially!) I also punched the edge of the card with a scalloped martha stewart edge punch…. and I sooooooo love this card!! I really hope you do too!! 😀 Positive feedback is welcome!! 🙂

cards 015

here is the proof that mine does get messy too…and some other piccys too! 😉

http://trimmiescraftchallenge.blogspot.com/ has a challenge for a shaped card. They are also looking for new design team members…2 of them. I can only hope that this card is up to the par of some of the competition for the design team. I started with my Wild Card cricut cartridge, and cut the base of my card…shaped like a baby buggy. I used designer paper for the buggy..its so cute!!  I then embellished with lace, primas, and a fancy brad, as well as some stickles and faux stitching. I cut the words new arrival out of purely pomegranate Stampin Up cardstock.. then to add a bit of something to the card, I cut the baby, who you only see her little head til you open the card. I cut a bow to put in her hair, that matches the buggy, and you cant really see it, but added some little earrings…two tiny drops of star dust stickles. It was such a fun card to make… thanks for looking!!! Click on the small pics to view larger!

Hugs, and happy Scrappy Days,

Cath

Room changes!

Well I cleaned and organized, as I mentioned before. I did some manuvering of things to make more space. I also made lil scallopped circles in various colours to tell me what colours of primas are in each jar. I was pleased with the result. I also had fun moving around my matte stacks of paper, on this cute new shelf I found at the thrift store. Sorted the brads into my spice rack containers as well! TFL!

http://www.charismacardz.blogspot.com/ with her challenge of buttons, combined with http://colourcreatecchallenge.blogspot.com, as you can see I decorated the inside, and the envelope!!:) Then I also used the sketch from http://www.sasthefreshbatch.blogspot.com …wow I love when I can combine cards to create one masterpiece! Positive feedback is always welcome!!

http://mojomonday.blogspot.com had a wicked sketch (see below post) and http://thepinkelephantchallenge.blogspot.com had a colour combo of our choice challenge… so I combined the 2.. I used my newest Magnolia stamp, pearls, shimmerz, stickles, and prismas to get the effect of her cuteness. I also used my stampin up punch oval , and Oval All set, with Pretty in Pink ink by Stampin Up.. and the lace is from the thrift store!… I had a lot of fun making this card. The scallop square is from mini monograms on Cricut Expression. The paper is all scraps! CRAZY!  Thanks for looking, positive comments are always welcome, as is constructive criticism.. everything else will be deleted!

Happy Scrappy Days,

monday 013Another favorite site of mine http://thepinkelephantchallenge.blogspot.com had a wicked sketch done by their awesome team member Robin Willis. I love Robin, and all she creates so of course I had to take a hand at it. Again, please only leave either a. constructive criticism, or b. a nice comment and lets leave the negativity at my craft room door..because I really don’t have time for it!! I used bohemia paper here, and pearls and a stamp from the thrift store!

 Thanks for looking, Cath
